“Margaritaville” is coming back to Wisconsin.
Jimmy Buffett is bringing his Coral Reefer Band back to Alpine Valley Music Theatre July 20 for the first time since 2016.
A perennial at Alpine for years, Buffett bypassed the East Troy amphitheater the past two summers to instead play Wrigley Field in Chicago.
His absence in 2017 contributed to Alpine’s first full-season closure in its 40-year history, after operator Live Nation was unable to secure any acts that summer.
Alpine reopened in 2018, hosting five shows with Dead & Company, the Zac Brown Band and Brad Paisley. The outdoor amphitheater also will host Hootie & the Blowfish Aug. 23 as part of the band’s comeback tour after a 10-year hiatus.
