Business Meeting Minutes
May 17, 2017
Called to order by Jerry Brown at 6:32 pm
Those present: Jerry Brown, Deb Brown, Tara Boling, Cheryl Boling, Jennie Fink, Karin Hamburg, Diane Robbins, Kevin Parker, Marilyn Pulford, Craig Pulford, Mickie Masterson, Laurie McCune, Anke Maass, Denny Reichenbacher, Mike Koester, Kathy Koester, Patrice Wilson, Brian Wilson, T.J. Griffiths, Christine Martinez, John Bethard, Duane Crandall, Lisa Crandall, Maria Steinbrecher, Todd Haugen, Jan Haugen, Mike Hoeper, Anne Hoeper, Chris Ivey, Tammy Visconi.
Motion to accept last month’s minutes by Tara Boling seconded by T.J. Griffiths.
$80 was requested for golf outing prizes, Mike Koester donated 4-$10 gift cards from River House so Lisa Crandall will only need to get 8-$10.
Deadline for HDD charity requests is June 5th. Christine Martinez asked if Mississippi Bend Trykes for kids had turned in a request, she stated she is the sponsor for that charity. Jennie will check with Kathleen and let Christine know.
Jerry reminded everyone that they had to have admin member status by May 20th to be able to vote in July. Jerry had admin list for those that wanted to check to see him after the meeting. If not let Tara know and she will change your member status to admin.
The positions up for election are President, Social Director, Secretary and Communications Director. There are 2 candidates running for President, Tara Boling and Laurie McCune. Brian Wilson will continue you as Social Director. Marc Nesseler will continue as Communications Director. Karin Hamburg is the only nominee for Secretary.
Membership: we have 324 members and 115 still need to renew.
HDD 2017 volunteer and decompression party will be May 24th at River House. Tacos will be included. There will be gift cards for prize drawings. It was requested that up to $600 be used for this party. Motion to accept by Jan Haugen and seconded by Lisa Crandall.
June 7th will be a golf outing meeting at the River House at 6:30 pm.
Jan requested the business meetings be moved to a more private location since we discuss club financials. Jennie requested the meetings stay at Moe’s until the vote was over so that there is no confusion in regards to a meeting place being changed for the admin members that want to vote in July. We can meet upstairs at Moe’s for a $50 because the air conditioning will have to be turned on and Moe will have to provide a separate server for upstairs. Lisa Crandall motioned we move June and July upstairs and T.J. Griffiths seconded.
Brian Wilson is working with Lindsay Park Yacht Club for another membership drive and requested us splitting the cost with the Yacht club with our ½ up to $1000 to cover entertainment. Brian Wilson motioned and Laurie McCune seconded.
Jan stated Kathleen needs the address for the coat check group from HDD 2017 so $200 check can be mailed. Jennie will ask Mike Malmstead. Jan asked about the big check for HDD, who makes it. Willy has that information when we have an amount.
John Deere Classic is July 10-16th and we do the parking July 12-16th. Anke Maass is now taking volunteers so please contact her.
There were questions on who does the website updates. That is numerous people and it depends on what section. Someone said there is nothing on event calendar but Jerry Brown puts stuff on there and anyone can view the calendar. Jennie posts business meeting minutes every month, you have to log in and be an admin or board member to view the minutes. Dee Robbins and Anne Hoeper offered to assist as web master and Jan Haugen said she would train them. Christine motioned to accept and Brian seconded.
Jerry talked about google calendar and got some people to be testers for this to make sure it is usable for the members before we share with all members. It is a google calendar that can be easily viewed on a smart phone.
